Jennifer Gail shaded threads, which can be re-ordered by name and number .

Threads of different weights and fibre content are dyed to the same formula, meaning the same colours can be used in a piece of work giving a textured effect.

Interesting effects are shown as the fibres take the dye in varying ways giving a wider colour range.

Usually in stock I have gold and silver leather for metal thread work, together with imitation jap, plate, passing thread and the various purls needed for the work. All individually priced.

A beginner's pack with sufficient threads for your first exercise costs �4.50.

Machine threads

Tanne no 30 �3.12 50 �3.60
(650-1100m)
This is an ideal thread for a beginner at machine embroidery, as it is less likely to cause problems.
This 100% cotton thread can also be used for lace-making, crochet, quilting and smocking.

Mad. classic 30 & Mad. classic 40.
�3.00 a cop(800/1000m)
Both viscose rayon which gives a lovely sheen. Can be used on all sewing machines, but some adjustments may be needed. Practise will dictate how to use these.
There are shaded colours in the 40 weight, on the 1000m cop @�4.60, and a selection of small reels 150m rayon 30 shaded @ �1.75

FS2/2 no 20
�7.50 a cop(1000)m. A very popular thread with machine embroiderers as it works easily on most machines. It comprises a black core twisted with a coloured metallic thread.

Metallic no 40

A smooth metallic thread, with jewel like colours, easy to use.

Supertwist no 30

This is a textured thread, limited colours also available on 200m reel
